Associate �C M&A Strategy Services and Commercial Due Diligence, Financial Advisory Services

This is a team dedicated to strategy consultancy services for both corporates and financial investors. We support our clients in solving commercial questions with strategic importance to their business and investment decisions in particular. Typical services would include M&A strategy, market feasibility study, development plan, commercial due diligence, business plan review, competition assessment, post-merger support, etc. A strategy and commercial due diligence is an appraisal that collects and utilises relevant data about the market in which a potential acquisition target operates to assess the business and competitive environment of a potential investment, validate the viability of the business plan, and identify potential transaction issues and risks to support investment decision either the for acquirer, seller or funding bank.

Responsibilities:

Associate is the entry position for new graduates with either bachelor or master degree. The team roles and job responsibilities for an Associate evolve as the person's experience and capability get developed. Responsibilities for an Associate usually include:

・             Preparation and delivery of sections of assignments

・                     Desk based research using basic and advanced research tools

・                     Gather key information through interviews, management discussion and site visits

・                     Correctly and efficiently analyse data and summarise key findings

・                     Build market or financial models and perform analysis

・                     Write concise reports in English or Chinese, with sound business recommendations

・                     Contribute in team discussion and participate client meetings

・                     Supervise and lead junior staff as seniority increases

・                     There will be occasional short period travels for project needs

Requirements:

・                     Outstanding academic performance (NO restrictions on majors)

・                     Strong analytical capability with logical thinking and good numeric skills 

・                     Good commercial acumen and business sense

・                     Solid English ability in terms of both writing and speaking

・                     A team player with proactive and professional attitude

・                     Willing to solve challenges and work under pressure

・                     Native Mandarin speaker, good writing skills in Chinese

Associate-Valuation Services (SH), Financial Advisory Services

Deloitte's valuation advisory services are designed to work closely with management and provide them with insightful information that helps them identify important factors that affect business value, and ultimately establish the true value.

Responsibility:

・                     Assist in business valuation, financial modeling and advisory engagements

・                     Perform business and financial analysis, conduct industry research

・                     Assist in identification, assessment and resolution of issues / problems

・                     Support our other lines of services as appropriate and necessary

Requirement:

・                     Bachelor degree or above, in accounting, finance, economics, mathematics or related disciplines

・                     Strong analytical and communication skills with high commitment to quality client service

・                     Fast learner, with flexibility and adaptability to work in different service lines and on different industries

・                     Knowledge of financial modeling skills is preferred

・                     Certification of CICPA, HKICPA, CFA, CPV or relevant qualification is preferred but not essential

・                     Self-initiation, good team player and willingness to work under pressure

・                     Good written and oral communication skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese, including both technical and business writing, good documentation and presentation skills

・                     Proficiency in computer applications

・                     Willing to travel

Associate- Forensic & Dispute Services (SH), Financial Advisory Services

Occurrences of fraud, corruption and dishonesty are all too common in the commercial world.  They have no respect for national boundaries, social status or cultural differences and cause signification damage to organisations' reputation, assets and stakeholder confidence. Deloitte Forensic and Dispute Services have, for many years, been helping organisations deal with these issues, both in proactive and reactive situations.  Our team members have assisted organizations manage these issues and focus on outcomes that address reputation protection, asset recovery and prevention.

Responsibilities:

・                     Conduct forensic enquiries and litigation support engagements

・                     Undertake tasks assigned diligently and timely, to the satisfaction of the supervising senior or manager. 

・                     Analyse financial and business data, conduct desk top researches on topics assigned.

・                     Support engagement teams as required.

・                     Work independently and report findings or difficulties encountered.

・                     Ensure compliance within the team and in line with Deloitte policies and quality/performance standards

Requirements for Forensic Associate

・                     Bachelor degree or above, major in accounting or finance preferred, other degree major will also be considered

・                     Strong communication and writing skills in both English and Mandarin is required.

・                     A good team player with excellent analytical, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

・                     Proficient in Microsoft applications

Requirements Analytic & Forensic Technology Associate

・                     Bachelor degree or above, major in Technology or similar, other degree major will also be considered with appropriate background (Engineering, Mathematics etc.)

・                     Strong communication and writing skills in both English and Mandarin is required.

・                     A good team player with excellent analytical, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

・                     Fundamentals in programming and or database query languages. Higher capability preferred.
